Downton Abbey comes to the Hallwyl Museum

Have you also fallen in love with the British costume drama Downton Abbey? Did you know that we have our own mini-Downton in Stockholm? The Hallwyl Museum is a completely preserved mansion from the turn of the last century when Count and Countess von Hallwyl lived there.

Visitors at the museum have often mentioned the resemblance to the hit TV-show and the staff contacted the TV-production to see if they could exhibit some of the costumes. They were successful! This fall the museum will be the first museum outside Great Britain to show some of the original costumes from Downton Abbey. The exhibition opens October 5 and runs until January 6, 2013.
